Small Group Personal Training in Bellevue and Redmond
The attention of personal training. The energy of a group. Without the intimidation of a big gym.
Small group personal training (also called semi-private training) is coached strength training in a group of 2-6 people.
At bStrong, every session is led by a coach who:
Demonstrates movements
Adjusts exercises to your level
Helps you choose the right weights
Tracks your progress over time
Unlike large group classes, you’re not lost in the crowd. You follow a structured program, with real coaching every session.
We offer small group personal training at our Bellevue and Redmond locations.
What is small group personal training?
Most gyms give you access. Most classes give you a workout.
This gives you a plan and a coach.
Compared to a group fitness class:
Everyone does the exact same workout → vs → your weights, pace, and modifications are adjusted to you
Limited coaching → vs → hands-on coaching every session
No long-term tracking → vs → your weights are tracked every week
Compared to a regular gym:
No guessing what to do
No wandering between machines
No trying to remember what you did last time
You show up. We coach you through it.
How is this different from a gym or fitness class?
Each session is about 50 minutes and follows a consistent structure:
Warm-up and movement prep
Strength training (main lifts for the day)
Accessory work to support those lifts
Conditioning finisher
Cool-down
You'll have your own station - rack, dumbbells, and everything else you need - so you're never waiting or lost in the flow.
Your coach is with you every step of the way.
What does a session look like?
This is where most people feel the difference.
We don't rely on memory or guesswork. Your weights are logged every session. When an exercise comes back the following week, you get a target based on what you lifted last time and how that set looked. Progress builds week to week, and coaches adjust in real time if something feels off that day.
You'll see your plan on the screen when you walk in. No thinking required.
All members also get access to our InBody scanner to track body composition over time.
How we track your progress
This works well if you:
Are new to strength training
Feel lost in a traditional gym
Are getting back into a routine after time off
Sit most of the day and want to feel better
Want structure and accountability
Don't want to pay for full 1-on-1 training
Have an old injury and need modifications
Most members train 2-3 times per week and just want something they can stick with.
If you're not sure where to start, read our beginner strength training guide.
Who this is a good fit for
Most people come in wanting to get stronger, feel better day-to-day, build consistency, lose some body fat, or move without pain.
The biggest change isn't just physical.
You stop starting over.
That's what consistency with a coach does.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need experience to start?
No. Most members are beginners or coming back after time off. Everything is adjusted to where you are right now.
How many people are in a group?
Typically 2-6 people (average 3-4). Small enough for real coaching, not overwhelming.
Will I be doing the same thing as everyone else?
No. You follow the same structure, but your weights and exercises are adjusted to you.
How often should I train?
Most people train 2-3 times per week. That's enough to build real strength and see consistent progress.
Is this better than a regular gym?
If you want structure, coaching, and accountability - yes. If you prefer working out completely on your own, probably not.
Do you offer training in Bellevue and Redmond?
Yes. We have locations in downtown Bellevue and downtown Redmond.
Do you work with members on GLP-1 medications like Ozempic or Wegovy?
Yes. We work with members on GLP-1 medications at both locations. Strength training is particularly important when on a GLP-1 - it helps preserve muscle while the medication supports weight loss. For a full overview of how it works, read our complete guide to strength training on Ozempic and Wegovy.
How do I get started?
Start with the 3-week trial. You'll book a call, come in for your first session, and we'll guide you from there.
If you've been thinking about getting stronger but haven't found something that sticks, this is a good place to start.
Try the 3-week trial and see how it feels.
